1: Leftovers as Cleaning Supplies

Got half a lemon left over? Don’t throw it out, use it to clean your stainless steel fixtures and faucets. Just rub it over the areas you want to clean, then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth.

2: Get that Grime off your Grill

Don’t wait till your next cookout to clean your grill, clean it while the grill is still warm. Use a wire brush to scrub down the grates. If it’s giving you trouble, use oven cleaner to attack the grime. Just remember to use gloves and do it in a well-ventilated area.

3: Behold the Power of Mayonnaise

Turns out your mayo has a little known superpower, it’s great for getting rid of water rings on your tables. Just apply some full-fat mayo to the ring, let it sit, and then wipe it off gently with a cloth.

4: Tiny Hands leave Large Prints—Use a citrus

based furniture polish to keep your kid’s sticky fingerprints of the fridge. The slightly oily surface it leaves helps repel future marks.

5: Extend the Life of your Swimsuit

After you’ve gone for a swim, be sure to rinse your swimsuit with fresh water. It will get rid of the chlorine, salt, oils, and any sunscreen that might be left behind. Sunscreen can cause stains when combined with many detergents, so rinse it thoroughly first before putting it in the wash.

6: Beat the Laundry Room Funk

Washing machines smell a bit more than usual in the summer, especially with the humidity, so run and empty load with detergent and hot water once in a while. Then leave the door open so it dries out. This will help prevent mould and mildew from taking over.

7: Don’t Forget the Pool Toys

it’s not just your swimsuit that needs a good clean, it’s the pool toys as well. Use some vinegar on a paper towel to wipe them down and disinfect them.
